Purpose: The Merchandiser will execute merchandising strategies and action plans that align with financial and marketing objectives. If this sounds like your kind of adventure, read on!

Job Responsibilities

  • Translate product strategies into action plans and execute to achieve division and department goals.
  • Define product needs by department that align with divisional objectives and manage the optimal product assortment within the financial framework that meets or exceeds sales and margin plans.
  • Curate clear and compelling product stories by month elevating hero items and key styles. Responsible for detailed handoff to Creative partners.
  • Execute seasonal handoff to Planning partners.
  • Review seasonal buy plans for all styles at a high level while ensuring detailed ownership of line plans for assigned product classifications.
  • Manage the delivery of clear, comprehensive and accurate product information to Creative and Marketing partners.
  • Monitor and track sales and sell-through on a weekly basis and work with planning partners on managing product selling life cycle. Identify opportunities to react to the business to drive sales or cut losses.
  • Thoroughly analyze current season department/category selling data to inform future merchandising strategies.
  • Actively maintain up to date knowledge of market trends, regularly providing feedback to merchandising leadership and cross-functional partners on competition and EB customer experience.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to quality. Report and react to returns data and customer ratings/reviews.
  • Direct procurement of product where applicable. Some travel may be required.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Analytical with focus on execution, problem-solving, improving processes, and brand enhancement.
  • Foster and maintain strong collaborative relationships with merchandising teams and cross-functional partners throughout the organization.
  • Perform such other duties as directed by the supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Retail Merchandising or a related field; or equivalent experience that demonstrates relevant skills.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in apparel retail, private label, or department store merchandising.
  • Proficient with MS office / G suite applications including Excel and PowerPoint
  • Adhere to regular in-office presence, including to engage in in-person team interaction, meetings and collaboration. Job duties may be performed effectively using the hybrid work program designated by the company.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor as the company retains the right to change duties to this position.
  • Must have authorization to work in the United States.
  • The hybrid schedule requirement is in the office 3 days per week on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Additional days may be required in the office based on business needs.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular and timely attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state and local standards and Company’s policy.
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for up to 8 hours per day
  • Ability to constantly operate a computer, other office equipment and look at a monitor for up to 8 hours per day 
  • Ability to clearly and accurately communicate and exchange information verbally, in writing, or through other means in person, telephonically, or through virtual communication methods
  • Ability to position self to reach at or below shoulder level

 

Requirements & EEO Statement

The salary range for this position is $80,000 to $90,000 annually. Pay is based on several factors, including but not limited to position offered and work experience. In addition to your salary, SPARC Group, and its affiliated brands, offers a benefits package, including 401(k) plan, overtime pay, flexible work schedule and a generous employee discount program (all benefits are based on eligibility).
